looking at changing around the bonnet mounts, (i.e. bonnet hinge at base of window.) has it been done before? if so what's best to use?

Not being rude, but why? Seems like a lot of time and effort for no benefit.

Not been done before to my knowledge. Personally I prefer the rear opening.

something different mostly. Was going to see if it's been done, and possible.

was looking at fj40 style, just playing round with ideas. while re-build underway, easier to do it now while in pieces, than later once completed.

I would use tailgate hinges.

I'd guess that it's designed the way it is mainly for spare wheel access. If you don't have the spare under there, go for it!

Sounds like a reasonable mod but how would you fabricate a catch and hook at the front I know bonnet pins are illegal but at the moment ive removed the catch off my bonnet and was using those rubber things like they use on trucks until they snapped
