Hi guy's
I'm hoping for some help with a gearbox problem , I've got serious shudder happening in second gear only has any got any idears on what may be causing it .

Might be alignment problems between the gearbox & transfer case. Have a search around on the Lada UK site, they have various info (and quite a lot of debate) on chasing down vibrations. Basically you get the wheels off the ground, run it in gear and loosen off the TC mounting bolts slightly and then tighten everything up again.

To quote Andy:

"t/case into neutral
g/box into 4th
from now until end,you will need the revs to be held steady as........
get revs held between 3,500-4,000rpm
loosen t/case mounts
leave for few moments
tighten mounts up
drop revs back"

Other causes could be the donut between the boxes has deteriorated or tyre/wheel alignment problems.

check flex coupling between g/box & t/case.

it may be starting to break up,gone hard

Hey Andy ,

mate your on the money again I checked the flex coupling and its got small crackes in a couple of places so thanks for the valued advice .
