Mystery vacum port

Postby bobbyd on Thu Jul 02, 2009 9:36 pm

I have a vacum port with a male fitting at the rear of my intake manifold(2nd from the rear) which has no hose on it and I cant seem to find a stray hose which would require a vacum source, it is approx a 2 or 3 mm hole.
I presently have it blocked but it was shiney so I'm thinking something came off of it.
The engine was filthy when I bought the niva and I never looked hard enough at hose routeing

I might route the 5/16 hose from the air/oil seperator to it, which presently goes to the secondary side of the carb downstream of the butterfly, (it has bugger all negative pressure compared to the one on the manifold)

No worries bobby. Glad I could help.
I had to rehook up all the tubes and hoses when I rebuild my engine last year, luckily I got this part cat. pic from some russian parts website for a 1.6l niva. The turbo nutter's website was for 1.7l Niva, which is not relevant.
